Yeah, so far the only outwardly noticeable after effect of my brain injury is I lost my sense of smell which in turn has messed with my sense of taste whiCH PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF.
Occasionally I’ll look up stuff about it to see if people with TBI’s have recovered their sense of smell but then I just read stuff like “Though anosmia caused by brain damage cannot be treated[…]” and get all bummed out or see “Losing an established and sentimental smell memory has been known to cause feelings of depression.” and then whisper “I know that feel“ as I internally sob.
